At 9 am, Be pick up at the hotel and depart Vientiane heading down to the Kong Lor cave, The cave is located in the mountainous terrain of the little-visited Khammouane province, Kong Lor is a spectacular 7km long cavern with a navigable river running through its length which leads to a remote village. After the cave visiting is ended we’ll return to the Khammouane city for our one night stay over at
At 9 am, we’ll depart from Khammouane and heading further down to the southern parts of Laos, It is going to take about 2-3 hours drive to reach to Pakse. And we’ll be checking in at the Champasak Grand Hotel: champasakgrand.com
After the breakfast finished, we’ll go to the Bolavens Plateau, a mountainous region home to dozens of hill tribes, waterfalls and coffee and tea plantations. Your first stop is at Tad Lo Waterfalls, a beautiful formation of three separate falls. From the bridge you will first see Tad Hang and then Tad Lo in the distance. The most impressive of the three, Tad Suong, is located a further 10km upriver. After exploring the falls and their surroundings continue through the Plateau. Stop en route for lunch. This afternoon, continue to Tad Yuang and Tad Fane waterfalls. Tad Fane is a set of twin 120-meter high waterfalls formed by the merging waters of the Champy and Pak Koot rivers. These impressive falls are situated on the edge of Dong Hua Sao protected area, 38 km from Paksé.
At 9 am, we’ll continue to go further south to 4000 Islands and along the route we’ll stop off and visit the pre-Angkhor temple of wat phou UNESCO world heritage site. It is the khmer temple from 8-11th century and the small museum from the top you’ll get a spectacular view on the surrounding plains. After lunch we’ll then carry on to our last stop at 4000 Islands and check in at these hotels:
After the breakfast finished, we’ll take a boat to Si Phane Done area, (the “Four Thousand Islands”) stop at Done Det. Walk on the bridge liking the small islands of Done Det and Done Khone. Visit the old French railway and locomotive then take a walk (or by local transportation) through villages and countryside to the impressive and beautiful Konephapeng waterfalls closed to the Cambodian border.
